During the past decade Stephen Cronin (best known as an art music composer) has been expanding his artistic practice to accommodate interests in the visual arts, prose and handwoven fabrics.
Photography, sculpture, mosaics and particularly printmaking offer a broadened means of artistic expression and Stephen's visual works cover a diverse range of subjects from abstraction, still life, flora and fauna to tableaux vivants.
Stephen uses a mixture of printmaking techniques including drypoint intaglio etching, photo-polymer gravure, serigraphy, linocut, chine collé and monoprint. He uses these techniques individually and sometimes in combination to achieve desired effects.
Relocating from Queensland to Tasmania in early 2020, Stephen was attracted to life in the Huon Valley which boasts a lively and eclectic arts community. Stephen is a member of the Huon Art Exhibitions Group (HAEG) and his prints are held in private collections across Australia, in the US, France, Ireland and the UK.
